Before My Birthday

Personal, Photos

Yesterday, by luck, turned into a free day. No one to see, nowhere to be.
So I took off to the seventies.
After a few hours researching shooting and editing techniques, doing  magazine pulls and drinking coffee, the photos were ready to be conceived.
Minimal styling, low saturation and contrast. High noise.
Cigarettes and vodka-colas.
Bada Bing! Etc…

A plus: Poor lighting, poor quality and distractions are all positives when aiming to shoot this style!

This Man Is My Man

Let go our being

Oneself

View One as

Eachother.

LOVE. I cheated a little there…

How do you capture the emotions, the memories, the physical and non-physical ‘ness’ of The One that you love?

ShadowBoy

I write this post only hours after attempting a Self Portrait project I assigned myself… Could I capture what it is I  feel that I express?  Is the woman I appear as somewhat remotely similar to how I perceive myself to be?

It was tough. It was frustrating. I got sad. I was kind to myself. I was cruel.

Now, try to do this same thing, photograph, the one whom you love.

SexiPepsiWhen were in love, we have seen through our eyes, with our hearts. We have listened, compared, imagined, transformed, sacrificed, grown, felt and cried. We have learned the hard way about some things, been fortunate, felt inspired, felt crowded, felt both childish and wise.

We nurture. We lust. We travel.

In our lover, our love, our partner, our spouse, we create from us- and they from them- the relation and perspective of a best friend, a mother, a father, a child, a mentor.

Backseat

They are stunning.

Capture that in a single click of the shutter.

I try.

Self Portrait

Attempting to internalize a reflection.
Mull that one over.
Self portraits are often utilized by one as tool towards self understanding. What we are seen as to others very often reflects some of our own self perceptions, but only a seldom few.

The Things That Keep Us Late

Uncategorized

This City is incredible.
Brick after brick. The old, the missing, the new and the yet constructed.
Eyes may feel tired sometimes, but the sights do not.
So, I turned the ‘wrong’ way off the train and knew where I was…
Location-PhotoBliss.
The blue brick of this decaying apartment is absolutely magnetic.
It stands-or slouches-between a newly constructed apartment block and an empty lot.
The atmosphere, alluring. A mystery of Late Late at night and somebody…
Beautiful.

Curiosity killed the cat.

I haven’t heard many quotes that are so blatantly misleading and invalid as this.

Curiosity created the cat. There- I fixed it.
